Malin Gustavsson's expertise has played a central part in several initiatives and projects.

When Malin Gustavsson arrived from Åbo Akademi University to the University of Helsinki, she had a lot of experience from student life under her belt. She had intended to concentrate on her studies but quickly found herself involved in student activities.

The equal marriage law was changed at the beginning of the year, now supporting, among other things, the rights of transgender people better than before, by protecting people’s right to free gender expression and by preventing discrimination.

This may sound a little clichéd, but I find it difficult to come up with one single best memory from the time that I was doing my Master’s studies in Women’s Studies at the University of Helsinki.

My dream is to be able to stay open and self-critical in my own work going forward and to keep challenging myself as I encounter unknown worlds through new people.
