A Speech by Tuija Talvitie at the World NGO Day in 2014

Resolving complex conflicts requires various types of expertise. For an official peace process to succeed, strong political will and well-prepared alternatives to armed confrontation are needed. Non-governmental organisations such as CMI work behind the scenes with the parties involved in conflicts to find peaceful solutions without political pressure. This makes it possible to concentrate on the underlying issues and build trust.
