My dreams

My family on both my father’s side and my mother’s side have lived in Joutsa, originally in the greater Sysmä area, since at least the 1500s. My dream is to continue to work less and spend more time in the countryside.

A real concrete plan and dream I have is to publish the interviews I conducted with veterans from Joutsa and Luhanka. I met many of those men only once, and now all of them have died, but every one of them made a lasting impression on me, and their stories deserve to be published.

I also wish to write a novel. It is a plan I’ve been turning over in my mind for twenty years, so it’s high time I seized the day and turned my ideas into reality.
