My dream

I am already dreaming of next spring, when we will open the new city museum on the corner of Senate Square. I see the museum as a meeting place where everyone will have the chance to discover exhibitions, events and courtyards, and where there will the chance to be surprised, have fun and for everyone to find their own Helsinki.

I dream that residents of Helsinki will head for the museum in droves and that they will feel that the museum is their very own museum. I hope that the museum can always offer city-dwellers the ingredients needed for well-being, the opportunity to learn and have new experiences.

In my private life I dream of interesting cultural journeys with my spouse to yet unvisited lands and distant places, like the West Coast of the USA, New Zealand or even the Easter Islands. On the other hand, it would be lovely to spend a holiday again, say, under the Tuscan sun, enjoying the beautiful scenery and good food and wine. At the same time I hope that my health will hold and that my mind will remain inquisitive all the way into old-age.
