My best moment in University of Helsinki

I suppose my very best moment in the University of Helsinki occurred in late 2013, before I even moved here. It was discovering, having applied to my current post with no idea what sort of outcome to expect, that I had been offered the job! The chance of a permanent lectureship in a subject you love, at a top class university, situated in a city which you adore, would be a wonderful moment for any academic. I am certain also that there are plenty more great moments and memories to come.

I have really enjoyed my time here so far. It is great how welcoming all my colleagues have been of me, and how students have responded positively to my perhaps different approaches to museology (and in English language, no less!). Above all else, I have been made to feel like a really valued and essential part of the department and university.
