Dictatorship of Failure - Opening of the Symposium

This is a video (I start at 6:28) of the introductory remarks of a Symposium I organized with my colleague Alejandro Lorite-Escorihuela (at the HCAS) on the European financial crisis, called Dictatorship of Failure.

We invited fellows and international scholars from over ten departments and disciplines – philosophy, geography, accounting, journalism, sociology, economics, law, world politics, etc. – and had a proper debate about why Europe cannot be efficient and fair and democratic?

I still feel that we made our contribution as academics to the promotion of a better disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding of our society and the challenges it faces.
