Occupations: reporter, businesswoman, Finnish parliamentarian, director-general of the Finnish Broadcasting Company, and author.

Wuolijoki’s farewell speec

 

As the director-general  Hella Wuolijoki made changes to the radio programming that became the centre of a fervent political battle. The controversal director-general had to leave the Finnish Broadcasting company in 1949. Hella Wuolijoki’s emotional valedictory speech can be heard in the archives of YLE (in Finnish).
